Key Features

Compact size and lightweight: These features of IR3080 and ST80 drills make them ideal for small drill floors. These Iron Roughneck also can relocate away from personnel when fully retracted, providing clearance underneath.

Intuitive control methods: Via a local control panel on the tool, hard-wired remote control, or wireless remote. Advanced remotes can be used for increased automation and safety by automatically performing complete make/break cycles in the driller’s cabin.

Soft clamp: Soft clamp minimizes the amount of force applied to a connection during spinning operations. This helps eliminate “belling” when making thin-walled connections, extending tool joint life, and quickening makeup/breakout times.

Tool shutdowns: Tool shutdowns are the primary way to disable any iron roughneck functions with an easily accessible button or sensor, enabling complete control for a user.

Hydraulic and electrical interlocks: These interlocks systems can be used as additional safety features for the user. Enable/disable certain functions on your machine to keep you safe from potential accidents or mistakes while working with them.

Proximity and analog position sensors: This feature identifies the tool’s position in connecting to the tubular.

Benefits

  • The IR 3080 and ST 80 Iron Roughneck ensures enhanced safety for drill floor tasks, tongs, catheads reduced, and pipe spinners by mechanizing or automating the process.
